Silkroad Kennels has been registered with CKC since 1999 but we have been in the Afghan Hound and Irish Setter breeds since 1977. We purchased our first show quality Afghan in 1996 from Heather Sheriff at Shahara Kennels. She gave us the opportunity to acquire this great dog, Shahara's Desert Falcon (Falcon) and that's when we became bitten with the "Show Bug" and made Falcon a Canadian Champion. Not only was it thrilling but an incredible learning experience. He's a wonderful dog and so well loved. We still have him at just short of 11 years and he's still as spry as a puppy. We'd like to thank you Heather for helping us get started in the Dog Show World.

We at Silkroad Kennels offer grooming, limited boarding and we are distributors of the B.A.R.F (RAW) diet which our dogs have been strictly raised on with amazing results. Our puppies are weaned right onto this diet giving them the added boost for strong bones, joints, luxurious coat and stable mind and temperment.This diet is sold to clients in the local area yet there has been out of town clients that will drive the extra milage.
